ABOUT THE ARTIST
What’s up—I’m Monserratte Hidalgo, but most people know me as Monseh the Creator. I’m a Miami-based artist with a passion for bringing music and culture to life through visual art. My work is rooted in the world of rap—bold, vibrant, and emotionally charged—because that’s the music that raised me, and it’s what inspires me the most.
My journey really kicked off back in high school, when I started designing custom senior crowns for my classmates. Each crown was themed around their favorite rapper—Playboi Carti, Drake, you name it. That’s when I first realized how much I loved blending music with art, and how naturally it came to me. From there, I started getting commissions, painting portraits of rappers, and tapping into something that felt bigger than just creating—it felt like purpose.
That love for music and art grew even stronger after attending Rolling Loud in 2019. Being in the crowd, surrounded by the sound, the visuals, the energy—it hit me hard. I came back inspired, ready to make this my thing. That was the moment I knew I wanted to build a lane of my own—creating art that captures the vibe and soul of rap culture.
Today, I paint expressive, colorful portraits of rap artists that speak to the energy of the music and the culture behind it. I also create murals for local businesses around Miami, designing artwork that brings their vision to life. And while I’m still early in my tattoo journey, I’ve started tattooing on skin and exploring how that medium can eventually evolve into my own unique style.
In 2024, I left my day job to pursue this full-time, and I’ve been going all in ever since. Whether it’s on canvas, clothing, walls, or skin—my goal is to create work that connects with people and lives in the culture. Monseh the Creator isn’t just a name—it’s who I am, and this is just the beginning of what I’m building.
